There are lots of email marketers who are contemplating about their next email subject lines and they have been discussing about it frequently. The common problem among many marketers our there is how to write compelling subject lines. It is because a killer email subject line can give the possibilities of better open rates, increased conversions and a higher click-through rate. These sounds fine for you as the email marketer but what about the readers? Your interest is a marketer may have a very huge difference from your customer’s interests.
Your line should clearly convey what the message is all about like a “Monthly Update” or a “Weekly Newsletter”. The most important thing about your subject line is that it should be persuasive so that it will encourage your readers to open your email right away and hopefully will take action in what you are offering to them.
Your subject line should give your readers a clue about the message content. Just for example you are offering a $50 coupon in every weekend, your email subject line should convey about this offer so your readers would be convinced to open it. However, there are also some cases in which the recipient just opened your email without taking any actions right away. These recipients may want to save the email to be read later as that is the case to some. There are people who like archiving emails before reading them.
You can categorize your emails into shopping, dining events, etc. and as for the subject lines, you can compromise between the current subject lines which are mysterious but ambiguous, and something a little more informative. Subject lines can take a while to write and a certain amount of creativity is highly needed but if you’ll just be clear about the content, it won’t be that difficult anymore. You are just using a different approach.
You should get to familiarize your readers’ interests and how they respond to your email marketing messages. Your task is to make it easier for your customers to take action on your messages.
